Home remedies for COVID-19 ( an explanation )

This is a further expanded explanation from the steps taken by my friends who survived CoVid-19

the story is on ReshaDollyPrincess blog:

All stated solutions are taken in moderate and controlled amounts:

1. Vomiting and Diarrhea

Solution

a. Rehydration and Isotonic Drinks - Proven studies and researches of how oral solutions helps adults & kids rehydrate with the use of commercially available rehydration or sports drinks
source: https://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=55115

During Inflammatory and Infectious Diarrhea, disruption of the epithelium due to viral or microbial cause triggers diarrhea. The destruction of the Epithelium would cause the discharge of serum and blood into the lumen, as well as lowered water absorption. Thus, resulting in excess sodium, water, and electrolytes.

b. For vomiting, Salted biscuits or corn chips - it has been recommended even to pregnant women who experience nausea and vomiting to try saltine crackers as emetics (not on excessive amounts, moderate amounts) and help prevent hypokalemia(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vomiting)(https://www.mothermag.com/morning-sickness/) (https://emedicine.medscape.com/article/242008-overview)

For diarrhea, Salt, water, and sugar helps avert diarrheal deaths according to WHO (https://www.reuters.com/article/us-diarrhoea-children/salt-sugar-and-water-avert-diarrhea-deaths-who-idUSTRE5294WH20090310).

2. Coughing

a. Menthol candies and throat anti-irritants
b. Vicks or alcamphor rub spread on neck region
c. Honey Calamansi Ginger Tea

Due to several stimuli in the respiratory system, coughing is most often felt with Covid-19 as an airway defense, Menthol or throat anti-irritants is considered anti-tussive and can reduce coughing. As said, this is the body's self-defense to avoid any irritants to your respiratory system, coughing is good but, if pain on the throat is experienced due to this, some anti-irritants may be used.

According to the research, the moderate amount of the cooling sensation from the vapor of the menthol helps to reduce the sensitivity to the nasal irritation by the acetic acid, and enhances sensitivity to TPRA1 agonist allyl isothiocyanate.(

3. Difficulty of Breathing

a. Vicks or Alcamphor

Same explanation as above on coughing.

b. Hot bath
Hydrotherapy since ancient times helped with most ailments and scientific evidence support this claim. In basic physiology, whenever a person is a dyspnea caused by obstructed airways either due to inflammation or phlegm, the exchange of oxygen is impaired or hypoxemia occurs. The application of temperatures in certain degrees above 25 degrees celsius shows an increase in oxygen consumption for respiratory, decongests chest congestion

c. Vapor therapy or Suob

-widely used as home remedy to clear, soothe and open the nasal passages. The warm moist air helps loosen the mucus in the nasal passages, throat and the lungs. (https://www.healthline.com/health/steam-inhalation)

4. Fever

a. Ice packs on the forehead or cold towels

To help with fever, my friends used a cold compress on their heads while soaked in a hot bath to avoid hyperthermia. External cooling, as they say, lowers the skin temperature to a greater extent lowering core temperature and to address shivering, they are soaked in a hot bath. 5. Chills and Body Aches

a. Hot bath Thermotherapy is another scientific and proven since ancient times helping with chills and as relief of body pain (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4225921/).

Ectomorph The blessed ones

We’re here to talk about…. Myself* ahem… people are often intrigued about my body type. They usually think that I don’t eat anything at all, or maybe I’m being starved to death. Seriously, I’m not. I have been like this starting 6 or 7 years old. This is my real body type. Let me explain. My body type is named: Ectomorphism or Ectomorph in short. Usually Ectomorph persons are tall in stature. Consider the fact though that my Mother is smaller than me and my Father too, plus our race which is a Filipino. Not to discriminate the height of Filipinos but usually the average height of a Filipino Male:  163.5 cm (5' 4.4")    and Filipino Woman: 151.8 cm (4' 11.8" )    according to: http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/height-chart.shtml .com. Literally, I have normal height for an average Filipino woman, my height is 4’11. As a cute child… When I was younger, I used to eat a lot especially when my favorite foods are served, Sinigang, or P...

Remedy through nature for Gastric Bleeding or Gastritis

It happened again, but this time I had become completely ignorant since I never felt pain in my stomach since the last episode. If you need to know how I got this condition, head over here . It was all my fault this time I wasn't very careful about what I consumed. I had a combination of incredibly citrus juices and even had an acidic vitamin c right after, there and then after a few hours I had a Shock episode and I kept on trembling involuntarily, I felt so cold and I at that time, I was confused. My EMT had no idea what was happening since I was not able to say anything to him, but he asked what seemed to comfort me and that was pressure and warmth . He covered me with a thermal blanket and had embraced and placed pressure in me, I kept on hyperventilating which I decided to try slow breathing exercises as much as I could and tried to take a little nap. It worked but right after I was burning with a fever which was easy to bring down by frequent water and alcohol towel b...

Best to consult specialist on multiple ailments

When it comes to several syndromes, we often get very confused which doctor or specialist that we want to consult to. Basically, we would consult a General Practitioner when we do not have any idea of the signs and symptoms that we get to feel in our body, that is true, but certain circumstances like we do have knowledge of what is occuring but would only like to know which person to consult to.  These are based on my personal experiences which best to consult on each situations: Internal Medicine Specialist ⇴You are experiencing heartburns or gastric pains , accompanied by menstrual pain , consult a internal medicine doctor best than a ob-gynecologist first and tell all the signs and symptoms.  Consulting an OB first might not be the best option that we have since dysmenorrhea is a natural symptom, but when we experience both pains at the same time that makes it unbearable it is one serious issue that we need to address, it is on my experience that I consult wit...
